Wood Turning a Birch Vase (5)

Stumped, but enjoying it.

So I make a cove to provide a target and start to "connect the dots."
I think it is beginning to look better but it is now time to remove more of the interior.
While a hook tool can work a fair distance from the tool rest, I like to have support where possible so I move the gate up. This is one of those times you want to be sure and rotate the piece by hand before turning on the lathe. Those wings will not like much of a bump.
Close works.
I am still not taking off enough towards the base.
Still, while I have support at the bottom I sand the interior with the lathe off, going in as far as I can with a disk.
